The 2017 Wildfires that hit Santa Rosa left some without homes, but it left us all in fear of what would happen next. As high schoolers prepared to return to school from a two-month leave of absence, they were looking for an anchor of normal life. October comes to an end, and while Jaylyn is ready to dress as a dalmatian for the Halloween school celebrations, she realizes that a dalmatian is no fire dog, without a firefighter. Where else to look than to her best friend's friend group, at the one with the shiny red car?
"When are you going to take me for a ride in that Mustang?"
A line that will go down in history between Jaylyn & Wayne. The boldness of her icebreaker intrigued Wayne, as all he had known of her was that a friend of his had a crush on her for years before. 
Halloween came and went, along with Homecoming (which had been rescheduled to December), senior ditch day, prom, senior sunrise, and graduation, each of which they celebrated together and their bond got stronger. In the next three years together through the pandemic and uncertainty of what comes next, Jaylyn will become a licensed esthetician and start her own business, opening her salon Pearl Essence Beauty in 2021. Wayne will have also opened his own business, Done Wright Media, and received a bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, while working at his family's business, learning the ins and outs of business in a variety of industries.
Together they parent their firstborn, Theodore Ronald Pearl-Wright, the fluffiest Caucasian you may ever see. DNA may say he is a purebred Pomeranian, but he will tell you otherwise.
Jaylyn & Wayne have claimed Santa Cruz as “their spot” having shared key moments of their relationship and celebrations there. It was where they went their first time road-tripping together, and on November 22, 2022, in a bluff of ice plant along Cliffside Drive, it is where Wayne Wright Jr asked Jaylyn Pearl to be his wife, just as his brother-in-law for his sister, and his father had done for his mother in years past.
Also in 2022 Jaylyn & Wayne were able to purchase their first home together in the Bellevue Ranch neighborhood of Santa Rosa. While the home was perfectly liveable by normal standards, Jaylyn's conditions could best be described as needing it to be as beautiful and vibrant as she is before she would live there. Together they began the home remodel, learning as they went.
 
While they thank each other for the love and support that gets them out of bed every morning, never will they forget the family and friends that have been by their side as they have grown and learned all the important parts of living life and loving the joys that come with it.
